The last leg of our Asian getaway was a 5 night stay in Hong Kong, on Hong Kong Island, to be more exact!

While trying to decide where to stay, I looked through both Venere and Airbnb, and thought it would be sooo much nicer to have an 'apartment style' stay, rather than a hotel stay. This way, we could feel like locals and get a feel of what it was like to live there!  It is a very nice way to travel and I really do love Airbnb!

So, I looked around on their site for awhile and this apartment really caught my eye. Very nicely decorated, cozy, good rate, and very central on the island. One thing I look for is access from the airport, because that is also important when traveling. I have to say, it was sooo easy to get here from the airport!

A HUGE thank you to TAO Limited rentals! The apartment in Sheung Wan was super clean, very tastefully decorated, lots of nice amenities, including two space heaters, which came in handy!  Also, the bed was super comfortable, very soft and probably THE MOST comfortable bed I have slept in while traveling! The kitchen had everything we needed to prepare our own means, which was very nice! A very comfy sofa with a flat screen tv, and actually there was another flat screen tv in the bedroom. The bathroom was very modern and spotless, I have to say!

The neighbourhood is what Alex and I fondly named, 'the dry stuff neighbourhood,' because of all the stores that displayed all the dried stuffs, of seafood, herbs, roots, nuts, and other stuffs considered as for medicinal purposes! These stores were very interesting to see as a very important part of Chinese culture and way of life!  There were also many restaurants, superettes, fresh fruit and vegetable stands, fresh fish and meat markets, as well. I think it was a very cool neighbourhood to stay in.
We walked everywhere and though the metro station closest to the apartment was closed at the time of our visit, it was only a few minutes walk from the apartment. Plenty of buses around on the mainstreet, Queensway Rd and also taxis everywhere at a very inexpensive rate.

One thing I DO recommend that both my husband and I found to be EXCELLENT was to take advantage of the very FAST and EASY AIRPORT CHECK IN at Hong Kong Station, where you can check in with your air company and drop off your bag there and then hop on the AIRPORT EXPRESS TRAIN, which is also right there! WOW!! The taxi from the apartant was 570 HK dollars, because we had one bag, there is a bag charge along with the taxi charge, but it took about 5 minutes from the apartment!

One very important attaction that should NOT be missed during your Hong Kong stay is the trip up the Peak Tram to the Peak, which offers one of the MOST SPECTACULAR views of the city from above! Make sure you go when the weather is nice or you won't get the view! AMAZING!

A very great place we really loved and went EVERY MORNING was the Corner Kitchen Café, which had some realllly amazing breakfast choices and very delicious coffee drinks. The ambiance was great and there were a ton of European and Australian customers.

Another good thing to do while in Hong Kong is to do sightseeing tourline,Big Bus, Hop on Hop Off, because you simply cannot cover this wide area of Hong Kong on foot, you could, but it would be exhausting, seriously!  We talked to on of the staff and managed to get a two day deal, which included ferry tickets, Peak tram ticket, museum and another ride ticket, but we didn't take the green line at all. You can find the staff selling tickets at the Central Ferry location, because the stops are not really marked, or in front of the YMCA on the Kowloon side. Highly recommend this tour bus!

I just wanted to mention a few things but in all, our stay at this CLASSY APARTMENT in Sheung Wan was really TOP!  I HIGHLY recommend it to everyone who is planning a trip to Hong Kong and if you don't choose to stay at this particular location, please be sure to look at other TAO Limited apartments because they are a top rate company and really made our trip memorable!

Thank you TAO Limited!!

 Here is our apartment!
