The street was lined with a long garden... composed of trees, agricultural crops, and other greenery local to France (even some bamboo and pineapples). It was impressive to think of the work that went into the set up/organization of this event ... but both Barbara and I agreed that the presentation lacked imagination and creativity.. i.e... it was boring.. Sorry to sound so negative... I wanted to really like it, I did.. I love ntaure...

But, oh well.. it was fun to go and people watch... it was soooo crowded.. There was a guy who tried the famous "ring" trick on me, but I ignored him...
People were interested in all of the different displays of plants-- we found grape vines, hops, lavendar, sunflowers, colza, mustard ... among the many!!

We're walking in the street!!! Look Ma, no cars!!!

Amazing pictures of the Champs Elysee, I cannot imagine it without cars in all directions. Sorry that you did not think it was very imaginative. Diane
Great pictures!!!! And a very nice place!!!!
Best Wishes,
Antonio (Zaloette)
Everyone seemed to agree it was boring and not worth visiting. Shame really.
I never got how the ring thing works. They pretend you dropped it and then you are supposed to be grateful and give them some money as a thank you? Or is it something completely different and I'm too thick to get it, lol.
One time a couple of years ago I got stopped 4 times in the one day by these guys! Of course I didn't fall for it because I ignore everyone that speaks to me on the street, hehe.
I can't imagine how much work went into setting this up!
Andrea - I was approached by the ring trip several years ago. The guy asked me if I had dropped the ring that he had found. When I told him "no" he then told me that God wanted me to have it because it was 18K gold. He also told me that he would also like me to give him money for food! Of course, he got nothing from me.
Such a shame you thought it was boring.. but lots of people went, wonder what most of them think!!
Hi Anne,
Oh.. they probably all liked it - except for me, Brigitte and Barbara-- I guess we're just too picky!!!
A similar event but on a much grander scale to the one I posted about in Viterbo in early May.
Was it boring because you had seen better efforts previous years?
Hola Antonio,
Thanks! Paris is a nice place, in general! It's fun to explore and attend different events there!
Have a nice day!
Leesa
Linda - Hi there!
Interesting! I wonder if they're at all connected in any way-- i.e. the theme...
Hi Anne-
Yep.. a shame, but oh well.. It had great attendance and I'm sure lots of people enjoyed it! Anyhow... It was a great day to get out and visit Paris! I had a nice time with Barbara... and also meeting a new blogger friend who was visiting from Australia.
Andrea-- Yeh.. oh well.. like seeing a film you don't like... I would say.
The ring thing... as Noelle explained... is hilarious! I fell for it the first time, my first year here but realized in the middle of it that I was being had! I mean, come on... What are they thinking??!!!!
It's very common over in front of the Louvre- by the Seine and over at the Jardin de Tuilleries (more by Place de la Concorde).. IT's fun to watch them and see how the people react...
Hi Diane...
Well, the big ol' rond point wasn't closed! Well, like I said to Andrea - it's like seeing a bad movie.. You're there and you don't like it (maybe you leave or you don't) but in the end - it's over! We had a GREAT time people watching, which I LOVE to do in Paris!!!
Take care,
Leesa
Noelle-
Thanks for sharing your experience! Yeh.. I wish that someone would have a camera and film this "act!" It's soo stupid... but people DO fall for it...
God wants you to have this ring, INDEED!!! It just fell out of the sky!!
