"... is a United States federal holiday observed on the last Monday of May (May 31 in 2010). Formerly known as Decoration Day, it commemorates U.S. soldiers who died while in the military service.[1]First enacted to honor Union soldiers of the American Civil War (it is celebrated near the day of reunification after the Civil War), it was expanded after World War I to honor dead Americans from all wars." Peace in our minds and our hearts. Peace on earth...
Great post...what a sacrifice for our freedom.
We also spend it thanking those who are currently serving. I have a friend who has 3 of her 4 boys in the military. She is very proud of them!
Thanks Ron..
It's important for us to remember that men and women gave their lives for us. Happy Memorial Day to you, my friend.
Philip- I always pray for PEACE, above all!
Lisa- Wow... That's really something- I could never imagine that.. That must be hard for her and I pray for their safe return... War is hard on everyone. I pray for PEACE.
