Stove cakes - Kürtöskalács

A blog I just found, Food and Beverages in Hungary, talks about these yummy treats- kürtöskalács.  "Kürtöskalács is the oldest Hungarian pastry. It translates as chimney cake. It is originated form Transylvania. It was originally made by wrapping the dough around the chimney pipes. You can find more information about it here."

Hi Leesa,
I think that now that you tasted some new things on vacation, you might be trying a few at home.

I know zilch about Austria & Hungry's cuisine, so it will be interesting to discover here.

Hi Cheryl...

Sure was good! Wish I had one right now, too!! YUM!

Barbara-- I bought a kugelhopf mold and I will make some bundt cakes in it.... As for this thing you see in the picture... It takes real expertise to make- well maybe not to make, but to bake!!!

Susu-- I agree... It was like a cinnamon bun but much BETTER!!!! And not so heavy tasting!
