Angelina's Salon de Thé, Paris

First picture taken off the net....

Rich and creamy hot chocolate from Angelina's.  It's famous for their hot chocolate and yummy desserts.  It's a great place to check out ... even if you experience a sugar high afterwords!
I went with Barbara, Andrea, and Elizabeth.  We had a nice time celebrating Andrea's belated b-day!
The Mont Blanc I had- it's chestnut cream, whipped cream and meringue.
Damage control....

Leesa, do you know why kind of chocolate they use for their hot chocolate? When I came back from Paris on Air France, I was in the VIP lounge in Roissy and they had the best hot chocolate ever. It came in little packages but I forgot to look at what kind. It was rich and sooooo flavorful. Just delicious!

Oh my gosh I can't wait to try that. In the meantime I'll just have to imagine what it tastes like.

My favorite hot chocolate ever, but I can't eat the Mont Blanc-too sweet for me and that's very rare.

Hi Leesa,

I had a good time on Friday !
Can you believe that it was my absolute first trip to Angelina's ?

I know that the hot chocolate is a favorite of many people, but I found it a bit too rich. But, it was still nice for a try !

Sounds great...I heard though it's pretty pricey? What does a hot chocolate average price wise?

Hi Nadege,

I'm not really sure what type of choc. they use, all I can say is that it's thick and very rich... I wonder if it's Valrhona?! It's a little too much for me...

Cheryl -- Come to Paris and we'll go for a cup!

Barbara- Me, too!! My first trip over there in the almost 3 years that I've been here!! Nice to have tried it finally! We had a nice time, indeed!!

Hi Rochelle,

Yes, pretty pricey-- It was about 13/14 euros per person with the choc. and desert. The hot choc. was about 6 euros and the desserts just a little more... The movies cost about 10 euro 20 now so, everything has gotten a bit pricey these days!

Hi Anne,

Yes, un chocolat (as the say here). It wasn't really hot- about lukewarm. Thanks for the link, I'm going to check it out...

Hello Leesa:
We are thrilled to be going to Paris for one month in mid June! We'll be renting a 3-bedroom in the 5eme, close to Rue Mouffetard. I'll be celebrating my birthday on July 5 along with my husband, daughter, sister and nephew. Can you please suggest a memorable restaurant, with great food (French or ethnic), not too pricey, please, with a lovely atmosphere? Gardens are always a plus for us! Thanks so much!
