Welcome back Animesh! Sushi and Starbucks in Paris, Oh My!

So, to welcome Animesh back "officially" from his month long visit to India-- 13 cities in 28 days (WOW Animesh) -- a few of us met for sushi and coffee afterwards in Montparnasse, the 14th Arrondissement in Paris!
We met at Taissei sushi resto...

Pictured below-

Front right- Farhat, me, Animesh
Not in picture 'cuz she was taking it-- Noëlle

which is pretty cheap and so-so (nothing like Taka shusi in L.A.). There were nine of us all together.  Most bloggers and a few non-bloggers, too.  It was a great time, with Animesh sharing his trip with us as well as his Indian sweets-treats called kaju barfi (diamond shaped cashew calisson like things with REAL edible silver foil on top).

*Picture taken off the internet, it's not mine!
Here we are talking amongst each other.

Here we come... Walkin' down the street!

And... here we are again, in front of the Starbucks in Montparnasse, my fav. spot!

Glam girls, Susa and Dawn talk about Paris fashion....
Tom smiles for the camera- Why?! He's off to Germany for the week! YAY!

Thanks to everyone for coming.  It was great to see everyone... Sam and Brigitte weren't feeling well and couldn't make it today. They were missed.

Hey how come I wasn't told of this? LOL I might as well leave my check card IN Starbucks.
Yes, I know- I'm supposed to try to quit. I just need motivation (say THE Dr. telling me "all systems go") after 3 months of little or no motivation, me and my check card are ready to cold turkey again!! I needed my Starbucks as I haven't been sleeping well lately...too much on the brain.

Leesa, why didn't you ask me about sushi...?
If you go to a Chinese sushi restaurant (that's about 90% of sushi restaurants in Paris), of course you'll have so-so sushis...

Also, you gotta stop going to Starbucks... Seriously... You're in France, you know, the country that has a real café culture, with real café at every street corner and where Crapbucks is even more an aberration than in the US.

Ok, that's it...I need to get my ass to France!

Leesa,

You do have a special gift, like Ron earlier said here, of bringing people together! That is such a wonderful talent and a real blessing to us all.

Try to rest and get rid of that nasty cough.
Hugs.

Hi Leesa,
It looks like that you had a very nice time !

I agree with what Susu said; you do have a gift to bring together people and create frienships.
When I think about all the people that I have met since I knew you !
Incroyable !
You are still dragging that cough ?

See you, dear.

Hey Debi...

Sorry, I put it on Facebook... Are you on Facebook? If not, you may not have caught the invite!! Drats! Next time I'll send you the invite via email!! Please DO come... You AND Ron!! How GREAT would that be?!!!

Hi Ron....
OMG!!! Do you EVEN know that when I was young and watched LOVE BOAT religiously every Saturday night on ABC with my two bros... I DREAMED of being "Julie." I SOOOO wanted that job that I considered it several times when I was in college... Did I miss my calling, perhaps?!! I also wanted to be an opera singer, a cake decorater/baker, and a floral designer. How funny that you seem to know me so well... Thanks so much for your nice compliments... and PLEASE by ALL MEANS, get your ASS over here to France... Springtime is good but not this summer as I'll be in Cali... In fact end of August - mid Sept. is pretty good as I will be back in France and not have started work again yet...
Keep me and Barbara posted.... : )

David- Well, more importantly ... we had a great time... I know the place isn't great, but it's "oki." I'll wait to get my fill in L.A. and San Diego this summer... and BELIEVE me, I WILL take full advantage of GREAT sushi for CHEAP-- with REAL Japanese sushi chefs--- he he...
P.S. Next time, I'll pick a please you can recommend to me if you and Y will join us, too!

Philip... Oki, consider yourself invited next time!

Barbara-- You and D. were indeed missed... I know it's harder for you guys to get out on the WEs... Thanks sooo much for tes gentils mots... You are a cherished friend to me!! Hugs!!!

Hi Marie I. -- Actually, Alex and I are going to do some traveling in the spring in France (en voiture)... Maybe we'll come out your way... Where are you again, by the way?! Hope you can come up and join us sometime here in Paris... If you ever come up here... Let me know in advance.. like a week or so... and I'll put something together...
Take care, Leesa
