Note about Thanksgiving...

While indeed Thanksgiving doesn't exist as a holiday in France, Christmas surely does... I liken the family closeness spent at the Christmas Eve and Christmas Day meal to be very much like the Thanksgiving feast in the U.S. - minus the Macy's Day Parade and football all day long... But, hey... Even if we are so different as a culture... We are very much alike when it comes to celebrating an important holiday "en famille."
People don't take out enough time to be thankful, as it is... So, for this one day.... (though I mentally note EVERY day how thankful I am-- even if just for the simple and little things in life) of the year, it's nice to openly give "Thanks" and "Gratitude" to our friends and family and others around us.....
It's just a nice, warm and fuzzy feeling all-around!!  Happy Thanksgiving to ya'll and even a Happy Thanksgiving to all you Frenchies out there... Even though I know you don't celebrate Thanksgiving!!!!

Happy Thanksgiving to you Leesa..hope your celebrations went well.

You are right, people don't take enough time to be thankful or to give thanks...Shame isn't it!

I was going to post that same thing. We may have missed Thanksgiving but we have two solid days of eating coming up next month!

Happy Thanksgiving! I think it's really nice that we have a day specifically set aside to be thankful, but I agree that people should try to be more thankful in general during the year. My students are always very surprised when I tell them it's a holiday without presents!

And congrats on the new hedgie!

I think it is a wonderful holiday... And it does not run the risk of being ruined by gifts, gifts, gifts, gift cards and more gift cards...
And Happy Birthday!!!!!!!!!! If I am right...But you must be some time around now!!! May you be always so optimistic...Cheers!!!

I do agree with you... The people who started Thanksgiving were from England! You're ansestors-- the first ones to celebrate!!! Soooo, Happy Thanksgiving to you, too!!! : )

Miss Chris,
Yes, I kow... and let me tell you... after Christmas Day I have no desire to move... or get up from the seat!!! I do miss the way Christmas is celebrated in the States... There's something different about it - and outside of the commercialism... You really do feel the "Christmas season" a bit over there... I think I just miss all the shopping and Target's Christmas themed household items... : )

Philip-- YES!!! Soooo true... We should make it a WORLD HOLIDAY!!!!!

Linda.... Thanks for your enthusiam... It's sooo true what you say about the gift thing ... Thanksgiving is a very "fun" family day!!! Thanks for the b-day wishes, too!!! You're sweet!!
