Birthday Celebration!!

I may very well be one of the only Americans in France who brings her b-day party to the gym!! Well... it's not so far-fetched if you know me well!  I love celebrating my b-day... or anyone's, for that matter.
I went to my morning SPIN class and Alex came by afterwards with the cake... There were just a few of us, but it was cozy!!! A HUGE thanks to Anna for the lovely gifts.. You really shouldn't have, but I'm glad you did!! Sooo thoughtful!!! It was a nice time!!! Thank you all!!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!

OMG, Leesa...I'm the same way. I LOVE celebrating birthdays!

You look fabuluos in these photos! What?...was this your 25th birthday? It must be all that wonderful working out you do, that keeps you so young looking! MAAAAVALOUS!

Looks like you had a very special day too!

The roses are LOVELY!

And do you know what's funny? Yellow roses are my favorite! Honest! They always remind me of the movie Funny Girl with Barbra Streisand, when Nicky Arnstein sends her a dozen yellow roses for her opening nights!

I'm such a DRAMA king!

Anway, my friend...I wish you all the best in your new year!

Hey Linda!

Thanks so much for your compliments!! I think that regular exercise, no smoking, no drugs, no drinking - have all definitely kept me younger in a good way... And, after having worked with kids for soooo many years (and still)- I think I have managed to stay young mentally, as well...
I hope that I will continue to age well--- and the the wrinkles around the eyes and the gray hairs STOP popping up!! It's really weird to be young all your life and then to start to show signs of aging... Esp. when you are from HOLLYWOOD!!!
Thanks for your well wishes... and my 50 be the new 30, too.. When I get there!!!

Hi Anne...

Yes! It was sweet that Alex was there, too... It was a cute and cozy time... That's what I like!!!

Debi--- I know, I know... I'm sooo awwwwwww-able!! : )

Hey Ron...

WOW!! I could actually HEAR you singing to me... with your Philly accent! It was very sweet, thanks!!! Heartfelt!!! Wish you could have been there with us, too!! I ate a piece for you, knowing how much you LOVEEEEE chocolate... I like THAT kind of drama.... RON!!! I'm from Hollywood... doo dooo dooo doooo Hollywood..... You know, I can be such a ham sometimes!!!! Thanks for the birthday wishes!!!
Oh and yes.. Lake Tahoe-- We took a trip out there in Nov. 2006 when my bro and sis-in-law were married by the lake... Their wedding pics came out sooooooo beautiful.... Loved it up there.. The air was sooo fresh!!
Take care and have a great WE...
Hugs, Leese

we have a similar custom in greece, to take our birthday party or nameday (or any family member's) to our workplace or school, which i think is the best way to celebrate such an occassion. people are relaxed, they dont feel obliged to bring presents, and the impromptu party always turns out more fun. i haven't celebrated my children's birthdays at home for the last four years!

Mediterranean Kiwi...

I agree with you-- Over the years, I have "brought my b-day cake" to many different places and cannot even remember the last time I had it at home!!
On year when I was in University, I had a class the same night as my b-day... Not wanting to skip an important class, I brought a whole sheet cake to my lecture of about 150 students and had cake with everyone! It was a blast... Other places I've had my cake-- coffee shops, Cafe Sevilla on Brasilian night... the park, in my class with students.. to name a few!!

Sam--- No worries!! You are traveling and working overseas.. Hope to see you when you get back for the K&K podcast... Take care, Leese
