Hedgehog night...

Tonight at around 7:55 pm, I saw a hedgie running for the street-- granted, it's just a small street, but I didn't want him to be crepe-ified so I shooed him back into a quiet spot.. I actually picked him up with my scarf and he was all balled up so the quills were sticking out... But, he (she) was soooo cute.. I really want one...

My friend/former co-worker said that when she went to visit her brother on the mainland, they were selling those in pet shops (?!)

Leesa,

Thank you very much for your kind comments at my blahg from time to time and most especially for dreaming of me being in France. That's a very nice encouragement. I appreciate it very much!

Bon weekend!

Debs--- Yes!! In many states in the U.S. they can be sold in pet stores as pets.. They make GREAT pets.. the ones in the U.S. are a lot smaller than the ones here.. They sell African pygmy hedgies in the US...
NOT in California-- Hedgehogs, sugar gliders, and ferrets are illegal to sell/keep as pets in California ... But, they are legal in 48 other states in the US - Go figure!!!!

Shannon.. They are probably all over the place where you are.. but.. they are nocturnal and come out very late at night to walk around and look for food.. Also, they hibernate in the winter so when it gets cold.. like now I think.. they will probably be getting ready to sleep for the winter.. I think it's still a little early, though.. It's NOT quite winter yet..

la framéricaine- Thanks for stopping by... I had to tell you about that becaus it was sooo clear in my mind.. I probably dreamt about you because I had been reading your blog.. so you were stuck in my mind!! : )

Ron.. ME, too!!! I had mine (Sydney) for almost 5 years when I lived in San Diego.. She was super cute and a great pet...

Hey TBF,

DO you guys have them in Basel?? My pet never had fleas, but then again, she was an indoor pet and we didn't have fleas outside when she went in the garden... by the way... and I don't doubt it.. do you mean fleas or mites... Because I can see them having TONS of mites... Underr their quills, it's all skin.... and their fur side is the chest...
