Blogger...

tells me that I have used up about 96.7 % of my allotted 1 GB of space... Sounds like it's about time to upgrade! It has only been about a year- didn't know I would use up the space so quickly, but seeing as how my blog is more of a photo journal, I can understand! I definitely want to keep my blog going and don't want to back track and delete pages to gain space... Has anyone else used up their 1 gig and is now running on paid space? I know a lot of bloggers switched over to typepad and wordpress for vaious reasons, but I have no real gab with Blogger and prefer to stay rather than moving somewhere else. Any suggestions other than that I should just buy more space (it's not expensive at all- only $20 for 10 gigs of space).

I think the previous comment in on the wrong spot...

Yeah, I like blogger too, and I always forget about the space limit for upload (well, that makes sense actually), I have to be more conscious about now that I have started uploading pictures on my blogs...

If you don't want to upgrade, the solution I see is that you get some webspace somewhere else (doesn't your ISP provide some? else you can create a facebook or myspace account (even if it's just to upload pics), they don't seem to have a space limit as far as pictures are concerned), upload your pics there, and then just link them to your blog...

Another option, even if you upgrade, is to reduce the weight of your pictures before uploading them (this is what I'm trying to do these days).

Thanks for the info. David, I will most likely pay the 20 bucks to have the extra space- 10 gigs would be a ton if I have already gone through almost a gig with almost 4000 pics! I can't imagine that I have posted that many, though, but they're all there on my picasa- about 4,000 standard resolution pictures and images! Yikkkes! I am not sure what you meant when you said to reduce the weight of the pictures before uploading them. Mine are stored in my IPhoto Library and they are uploaded onto Blogger with the same "weight?" they have in IPhoto.. I don't use Adobe to edit so I don't know if it would be more of a pain to change the size of each photo before uploading them to the blog. Do you mean the actual size of the photo you can choose when you are given the option on Blogger, i.e., small, med. and large? Or, do you actually mean that I have to tweak the size in IPhoto before uploading the to Blogger... Let me know, thanks... Leesa

I don't really know iPhoto, but yeah I meant reducing the size (in memory, not necessarily pixels, even if they tend to go together) of the pic before uploading it... If I'm not wrong the size you select with blogger when you upload it is just the size of the thumbnail in the actual post, but the picture is uploaded in its original format/size/weight.

(I don't know if I make more sense)

Somehow I had feeling you were going to say that! I do understand what you mean vbut I think it would be a pain to mess with the size since I post so many pics on my blog! Oh well... thanks for the info though~
Take care, Leesa
