My first May Day in France....

Well, I learned about a new custom today! It was a very nice way to spend labour day. In the USA we just have off from work, and people throw bbqs and hang out at the beach because the weather is so nice (in San Diego). But, here in France, it is a different thing. People buy "muguet," or lily of the valley for friends and family and offer the muguet as something to porte le bonheur... something to bring good luck! We went to Jean-Mi's house and had lunch all together.. Me, Alex, Jean-Mi and Regine... She made a deliscious salad of advocado slices, green chene salade, and some sort of fish, with her own dressing. She also made me a very delicious dish with eggplant, tomatoes, zucchini and mozzerlla... and for dessert, we had strawberries and custard... It was all so very good... Overall, it was a very beautiful day... So Happy May Day Everyone...

Don't forget the manifestations! The French were busy on May Day!
